'I always wanted to do music that influences and inspires each generation. Lets face it, who wants mortality?' Michael Jackson - 2007
In the same way that the deaths of Freddie Mercury, John Lennon, Elvis Presley and the Late Great James Brown shook the world, so has the death of the long standing King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
Normally I would say that it's strange for me to feel such a great sense of loss for someone I've never known outside of their achievements. Now, however - in this case of the death of Michael Jackson, I think that as well as it being such a tragic loss for his family and friends, it is a loss for the music industry that he changed and influenced so greatly and a loss for the people around the world, the fans and those he inspired.
I send thoughts and wishes to his family, friends and his poor children. I will chose to remember him for the magnificent legacy - his music, his dancing, the huge impression that he left on music as the KING - and not for the bad press he found himself on the recieveing end of over the past five years or so.
He lived a relatively short life, dying at the mere age of 50 for reasons yet unconfirmed, his work will be remembered by those that love him and followed him over the years. I was bought up in a family of music lovers, Michael Jackson lovers, the fact that I was introduced to his music at an early age has made me the huge fan of his that I am today. I can safely assume that over the years to come, generation upon generation will continue to be in awe of his great achievements and continue to play his timeless records.
Long live Michael Jackson, King of MUSIC.
It is also important for me to make reference to Farrah Fawcett, of the original Charlie's Angels line-up who also died this week after a long battle with cancer, RIP.
Were it possible to, I would list every person who had passed recently as they are no less important that the two people mentioned above, and so for them I send well wishes and thoughts to their families and friends and others they have left behind.

You may be right
I may be crazy
But it just may be a lunatic you're looking for
Turn out the light
Don't try to save me
You may be wrong for all I know
But you may be right
